Run Disney
I am running a half marathon!! In January my friend Ashley (Opposite of Thin) and I are meeting in ORLANDO and running the Disney Half Marathon!! YAY US! 13.1 Miles!!
**If you don't understand the importance of Disney in my life and in Ashley's, let me [briefly] explain:
Ashley and I met at Walt Disney World in 2005! She was my roommate during the Fall College Program (internship). Ash is from Louisiana, and myself Iowa. We had 6 other roommates as well; 1 from Buffalo, 1 from Pennsylvania, 2 others from Louisiana, 1 from Texas and another girl who only stayed for 2 weeks. I'm not quite sure where she was from. We had a four bedroom, two bathroom apartment located on Disney property. We each were assigned different jobs, at different parks. Ashley and I both worked at Magic Kingdom just different restaurants.
I ended a (almost) 5 year relationship and ended up moving half way across the state of Iowa when I got back. But for Ashley, it really was the place where dreams come true. Ashley met her husband there!
Ashley moved back to Florida around the same time my husband I were engaged. So I decided (with the hubs approval) we would honeymoon in Florida and spend an evening with Ashie and her hubs!

Happy Mother's Day!!
On Friday, I got hand prints from Miss Thang and a cute little poem she made at daycare. I also got a begonia she planted all by herself! Then on Sunday I got to sleep in and woke up to the (wonderful) smell of fresh banana nut muffins...mmmmm one of my faves. I heard a little voice next to my bed that said "Mommy, mommy happy modders day." When I rolled over I was pleased to find Miss Thang holding a plate of mini muffins and Daddy was next to her with a big glass of milk.
We spent an hour or so all laying in bed. And then got up and got dressed so we could go to Miss Princess' soccer game! When we got to the soccer fields Princess ran up to me with a bouquet of flowers and a card.
To top it all off, she did an AMAZING job at soccer too!! She ended up scoring like 5 goals! She was keeping up with the group and being aggressive. I was so proud of her!! She looked like she was actually enjoying it (sometimes you can tell she doesn't want to be there...but she's only 5 so it's okay)
I also got a gift a few weeks ago from the hubs. It was my Mother's Day/Birthday gift (my birthday is on Wednesday, the 16th). It's a Nike+ Fuelband! And I love it!! It's an activity tracker. It'll track your steps and calories burned, then convert it into Nike Fuel (Nike's unit to measure your activity). You can set goals for yourself and if you reach them this cute lil alien guy will dance and cheer for you! And...it also tells you what time it is. It has LED display. And it syncs with your phone via bluetooth. No cords or wires to plug in!

Pedal Power!
Miss Thang's bike is bright blue with hot pink accents. And Miss Princess' bike is going to be Tinkerbell! I'm going to get her a cool helmet to go with it and possibly some neat little accessories, like a mini bike she can put her barbie in and attach to her bike. I'm [of course] going to get Miss Thang a cute little helmet too. We just aren't making as big a deal about it cause it's Princess' birthday and I want all the attention on her :) She deserves it!

Goals and Rewards
So - I keep talking about my goals and how Im going to post them. And then I keep forgetting to get this post up. So here it is...finally. I thought reviewing my goals would [hopefully] help me get back on track. I've got some pretty awesome ones I'm looking forward to!! So here they are :)

A few of these are a little personal. A couple are silly. But they are all things I want. My ultimate goal is to reach #9 and #10 before November.
My husband and I will be celebrating our third wedding anniversary in November with a weekend trip to Chicago (my first time) and I want it to be special so I want to order a dress from Pin Up Girl Clothing (kinda obsessed with 50's style) to wear to dinner :)
Also - On a positive note...I actually got off my butt and ran Sunday evening. It's so clear to me I can't do these things on my own. So I don't know why I try. Ashley sent me a text Sunday letting me know she was going to run at 7:30 so I decided to join her [via texts - she lives 5 states away from me]. It's so much easier having a partner. And having someone hold you accountable!! Thanks Ashie!

No Excuses!
I have absolutely no excuses for my horrible behavior. I have neglected my diet. I have neglected my training. I have neglected my blog. And even worse I have neglected my friend.
I feel absolutely horrible. I have not done a single run all week. I told Ashley I was going to do week one over and I didn't. Last week was rough because of the weather. But this week there was nothing stopping, except myself.
Through out the day I think about my run and look forward to it. It's something I want to do. But after a long day at work, I go home, make dinner, eat and then I'm done for the night. I become too lazy and tired to do anything. I know there's no excuse and it's a matter of will power but I have simply lacked motivation. And to make things worse, registration is in 10 days!!!
I keep thinking, "Oh I have plenty of time." But the way this month flew by I really don't think I will. Summer always flies by too. I need to get my but in gear!!

Rain, Rain Go Away!
Today is day 1 of week 2 and it's raining. It started raining the last half of my work day, and started pouring during my regular run time :( This is the first time this issue has come up so I havent quite made a back up plan (until now). Due to the darn rain I was forced to resort to other methods of finding a fit "high" and decided to shred it out. Level one with Jillian didn't quite cut it...but it's better than nothing. I'll run tomorrow to make up for my lack of optimal climate.
As for a backup plan, I will be keeping some clothes in a bag in my car and I'll just have to use the gym at work. We have a free 24 hour fitness center at work. I just don't get to utilize it on a regular basis. Since the hubs and I work for the same (very large) company, we carpool. So there for we both go get the kids from daycare at the same time. We live 30 minutes away from work too so it's not like it's an easy drive for me to go get the kids, go home, drop everyone off and then drive back to work to run...ya know?
I'd really like to invest in my own treadmill, but we live in an apartment....on the third floor. I think my neighbors would begin to hate me ha ha! Oh well...I'll make do :)
